Meadowlarks perched on sagebrush  that grew next to wild yellow and purple lupines. The sunlight in the morning pierced the air and the nights were quiet and cool. Storms were few and far between but when they came water spilled over the ground and formed, you guessed it, the Spring Creek. We loved plopping stones down and building ourselves footpaths to get across.
